Shortly after releasing a soulful new rendition of “I Wanna Know” with Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, Alesso has introduced another remake to his catalogue. Once again tapping into Asia’s burgeoning electronic music market, the Swedish producer has teamed up with Chen, the lead singer of South Korean K-Pop group EXO. Alesso’s newest transcontinental partnership has materialized in a new rendition of his hit “Years,” which was released on SM Entertainment’s EDM label, ScreaM Records, on October 7.

Alesso and Chen’s collaboration does Matthew Koma’s original version of “Years” justice as the South Korean’s vocals glide perfectly over the song’s gentle chord progressions. Moreover, Chen’s soft, yet powerful voice fits well with the intense emotionality of the track. As the lyrics seamlessly vacillate between English and Korean, this new take on “Years” is another example of Asia’s growing influence on dance music.
