Bibliotheque Records launches with Sebjak and Kiano’s ‘Hybris EP’
Posted on 19 October 2016
Renowned producer Sebjak has just launched his own record label in blistering style. The inaugural release on Bibliotheque Records finds the man himself collaborating with the prodigious Kiano. Dubbed the Hybris EP, the duo and the label’s first time out the gate is deeply groovy and hypnotic. It’s a homage to the underground spirit and classic house culture. “Kaos” is wild and untamed, an unpredictable output driven by heady 808s, snapping hi hats, and subterranean baselines. Things get more laid-back on “Peace” but the deep and luscious grooves stay locked in time as the track meanders through diverse soundscapes and playful flutes. Rounding out the debut is “Rewind Selecta,” a head down, bull rush of tried and true club panache that cranks the intensity to 11. The entire EP itself speaks to the classic clubber who has become all but disenchanted with the current state of the EDM status quo. It’s a welcome and needed refresher on what brought us to the dancefloors in the first place.
Stayed tuned to this space and expect much more from Bibliotheque Records in the future.
