Bruce Springsteen Says He Wrote a Song for Harry Potter, But “They Didn’t Use It”

For years, rumors swirled of a Bruce Springsteen song, “I’ll Stand by You Always,” written for the Harry Potter films. Now, he’s confirmed its existence—hear him discuss the song below. “It’s pretty good!” Springsteen told BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo. “You’d have to ask them [why they didn’t use it].” He says he wrote the “big ballad” for his eldest son and it’s “very uncharacteristic of something I’d sing myself.” He added, “At some point I’d like to get it into a children’s movie of some sort.”
