Recent Black Butter debutant King Henry is not resting on the laurels of contributing a remix of Major Lazer and Justin Bieber’s standout Summer anthem “Cold Water.” Following fast on the heels of his original track, “Gold Dust,” the Los Angeles native continues the road to his debut EP for the Black Butter label with a second serving of eclectic electronic pop cut far from the the more sugary domain of his previous hit work.

Muted leads and focussed grooves carry the NAATIONS assisted “Don’t Stay Away” from its outset, building on King Henry’s proven ability to write catchy pop hooks whilst presenting them in an edgier, coarser setting. If the electronic pop market could be said to be getting a little too safe of late, it’s reassuring to hear the man behind some of its biggest hits taking a road less travelled and forging a truly standout solo presence along the way.
