Tim Kaine Calls Himself “Lil Kaine” After Listening to Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne’s “No Problem”
Posted on 14 October 2016
Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Senator Tim Kaine, is a big music fan. He’s revealed his love of the Replacements (namely, Let It Be), as well as David Bowie, Alabama Shakes, Lucy Dacus, and others. Kaine is also an avid harmonica player, and like any great musician, he deserves a moniker. Recently, Kaine called in for an interview with “No Limit Larry & The Morning Maddhouse” on North Carolina’s Power 98 FM. The station had just finished playing Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book song “No Problem” (featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz), which gave the senator the perfect opportunity to unveil his new nickname: “They call me Lil Kaine not Lil Wayne,” he said.
Elsewhere in the interview, he said that he likes to listen to the Isley Brothers, Gnarls Barkley, and more while on the campaign trail. At one point, one of the hosts honored his new alias, calling him “Senator Little Kaine.” Hear a clip below, and listen to the full interview here.
